All eighth grade students are required to do 12 hours of community service. Along with their services, they must do a small presentation in homebase describing what they did and how it relates to the question, "What is a good citizen of the community?" The community service and the presentation will be worth 10% of their overall grade in English, History, Math, and Science second semester.
What is community service?
Community Service is an opportunity to contribute to your community - nation, state, city, neighborhood, or school.
Your time and effort should be given to a non- profit organization which is dedicated to improving our community.
Through your experience, you’ll better be able to answer the question, “What makes a good citizen of the community?”
